Class objectives
Acquiring the ability to plan cross-border cooperation to resolve global issues.
Class content
Based on video lectures by guest speakers regarding Japanese local communities and SDGs, 20 groups were formed to work on assignments jointly. The 10 groups in the first half conceived a project involving university students in the form of local decarbonization projects implemented jointly between Tuscaloosa, where the University of Alabama is located, and its sister city, Narashino. The 10 groups in the latter half came up with ideas based on the implementation of joint projects between the two cities as WHO Healthy City Projects. The opinions of students from the two countries were summarized primarily by the leaders of each group at Chiba University, and the guest speakers selected the top three projects from each category.

授業目的
グローバルイシューの解決について国境を超えた協力を構想する力を身につける。
授業内容
Japanese local communities and SDGsについてのゲスト・スピーカーによるビデオ講義を踏まえ、20のグループに分かれて課題に共同で取り組んだ。前半の10グループは、local decarbonization Projectをアラバマ大学が位置するタスカルーサ市とその姉妹都市である習志野市で共同プロジェクトとして実施するという仮定で大学生が参画するプロジェクト構想を考えた。後半の10グループは、WHOのHealthy City Projectとして両市が共同プロジェクトを実施するという仮定でアイデアを出し合った。千葉大学の各グループ・リーダーを中心に日米の学生の意見をとりまとめ、ゲスト・スピーカーにそれぞれのプロジェクト案のベスト3を選定していただいた。
