Class objectives
Basic knowledge of politics in the Middle East is acquired and considered from diverse perspectives while considering Japan-U.S. relations.
Class content
Students learned the basics of Middle Eastern politics through on-demand teaching materials studied in advance and were divided into two groups to create video presentations for the University of Alabama students.

- Differences between the U.S. and Japan in dealing with ISIL
After deepening their learning through asynchronous feedback from all class members of the University of Alabama, five selected members from the University of Alabama participated in two Japan-U.S. joint teams.

The final presentations of the two teams were as follows:
Team A: U.S. and Japan Policy with the current events in Ukraine
Team B: Japan and U.S. Trade with Middle East
The final presentations were held synchronously, the video recording was uploaded to COIL-Moodle, and an asynchronous Q&A session was held.

While cultivating student leadership, a deeper understanding of international relations was gained through cooperation among members with diverse cultural backgrounds.

中東政治の基礎知識を身につけ、日米関係との関わりを視野に入れつつ、多様な視点から考察する。
授業内容
事前学修としてオンデマンド教材により中東政治の基礎を学び、2グループに分かれてアラバマ大生向けにビデオ・プレゼンテーションを作成した。

非同期でアラバマ大受講者全員からフィードバックを得て学びを深めた後、アラバマ大から選抜メンバー5名が参加し、日米共同チームを2チーム編成した。
