Class objectives
The role of museums in history education is considered through a practicum at the National Museum of Japanese History.
Class content
Following online pre-study, a practicum at the National Museum of Japanese History was scheduled for March, when students from the U.S. were planning to visit Japan. As it was not possible for them to travel owing to border control measures, the practicum was held virtually.

- Zoom session with curators of Rekihaku (National Museum of Japanese History) on September 16 in Japan ( 15 in US).
- Discussion about zoom session with Rekihaku curators (17 to 24 September)
- Task 2: "Museums as Centers of Controversy" - Discussion (until 31 October)
- Online asynchronous lesson 3 (December 2021): Museums and representation of 'culture' (Ioannis Gaitanidis)
- Rekihaku Visit Observations by Chiba University students

授業目的
国立歴史民俗博物館での実習を通じて歴史教育における博物館の役割を考える。
授業内容
オンラインでの事前学修後、3月に国立歴史民俗博物館での実習を予定しており、米国から学生が渡航する予定であったが、水際対策のため渡航できず、ヴァーチャル実習を実施することになった。
